William A. Jensen (Author)
Synopsis

Botanical Histochemistry is a rapidly expanding area with techniques being developed and existing ones perfected and made easier to incorporate as methods in the laboratory. The early chapters of the book deals with general matters of technique, equipment, and tissues preparation. The second and third chapters contain not only the description of items of equipment but also general remarks about histochemical procedures. The fourth chapter deals with classical microtechnique, which is a basic to a great part of histochemistry. Chapters 5 and 6 give methods of tissue preparation other than by chemical fixation. Chapters 7 and 8 deals with the methods and problems of cell analysis on both the microscopic and quantitative histochemical level. The remaining chapters are concerned with the various cell components, and both the microscopic and quantitative histochemical methods are presented in each chapter. The last chapter deals with autoradiography.

The book will prove highly useful to students, researchers, and professionals in the field of Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and Biotechnology entrepreneurs.
