Social Exclusion and Dalits Lifeworlds
Social exclusion and Dalits Lifeworld's is empiricist attempt to explore the multiform reality of Dalits under the epistemology of social exclusion. Social exclusion is related to the alienation or disenfranchisement of certain people within a society which is often connected to a persons astrictive attributes, such as caste, class, gender etc., determining the nature and degree to their access to various opportunities affecting their life chances. In this book the multiform realities of Dalits are explored through lenses of social exclusion primarily because it traverses beyond the economic phenomenon of poverty or narrow monitory approach. But without undermining economic consequences, social exclusion examines the manifestation of deprivation in social consequences and symbolic fields. In this book the revisionist ethnography of caste and untouchability are mapped in the theoretical development of post colonial studies.
