This book gives design aid-tables and charts for the limit state design of reinforced concrete members-slabs, beams, columns, footings, retaining walls, water tanks etc. based on IS : 456-2000. Of the many distinctions of the book, mention may be made of beams with non-rectangular compression zones, biaxial bending of beams, columns and ties, flanged colums and flanged beams and effencts of temperature and shrinkage in design of long buildings. In the revised and enlarged edition, seven chapters have been added which deals with pile foundations, footings for columns at the property edge, deep beams and brackets and design of buildings of lateral loads like wind and earthquake among other topics.
This book is offered to the professional engineers engaged in the structural desig of buildings with a view to help facilitate application of the new reinforced concrete code IS: 456-2000. This book, together with the Code will be sufficient for structural design of buildings.
