Gitin Maitra (Author)
Gitin M Maitra graduated in mechanical engineering from the Jadavpur University, Calcutta, and worked for several years in industrial concerns of repute in the UK and Germany. On his return to India, he was associated with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, for a few years before joining the Rourkela steel Plant at Rourkela under the aegis of the Steel Authority of India limited. At present he is engaged as a free-lancer consultant and technical advisor to several concerns dealing with mechanical engineering. Mr. Maitra is a full member of the Institution of German Engineers as well as of the Institution of Engineers, India.
L. Prasad (Author)
L V Prasad is a member of the faculty of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi. He has been teaching machine design and related subjects to students enrolled for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses for several years now. Prof L V Prasad graduated in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani and completed his M Tech in Machine Design from IIT Kharagpur. Prof Prasad has also done a DIC in Applied Mechanics from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London. Prof Prasad has visited several universities abroad on teaching assignments.
