About the authors

S. Ayyappan

Dr. Subbanna Ayyappan, born on 10th December, 1955 is presently the Deputy Director General (Fisheries) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. After receiving his B.F.Sc., M.F. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from College of Fisheries, Mangalore, India, he joined Agricultural Research Service in 1978. He has served ICAR in different capacities including Director, CIFA and Director, CIFE-Deemed University. He has guided many Masters and Doctoral students. He has served several national and international committees and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the World Fish Centre, Malaysia and Network of Aquaculture Centre of Asia and Pacific (NACA), Bangkok, Thailand. He has over 100 research publications to his credit and filed one patent application with the Indian authority.

A.K. Singh

A.K. Singh is Assistant Professor (Agriculture) at North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management, Tezpur, Assam. He did his M.Sc. from Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, and Ph.D. from Visva Bharati Santiniketan. He is a recipient of University Fellowship, Department of Atomic Energy Fellowship and National Agricultural Technology Project Fellowship. He has published 16 research papers in national and international journals of repute and attended several seminars.
