Overview for Flora: Flora of Ghaziabad District
The best, most comprehensive and highly informative flora on the identification of medicinal and economical plants that contains about 1800 plants species. The main objectives of this Flora are (1) to provide in a book of workable size with the names of identifying the numerous species (2) to give an up-to-date nomenclature of the plant species (3) to stimulate further research of plants in the different areas, (4) to induce the study of nature and the concept of conservation. 167 families have been given with detailed description of Families, Genera and Species in semi-technical, simple and lucid language. The families arranged according to the classification of Bentham and Hookers System of Classification and Enlargement of the Families is according to the Engler and Prantl's and Hutchinson's System of Classification. The plants identifying with the help of several floras and the Herbarium of F.R.I. Dehradun, B.S.I. Dehradun, B.S.I. Allahabad and C.N.H. Calcutta. This book will serve the students in both ways that is in plant identification and to know the medicinal plants.
Rashtra Vardhana (Author)
Dr. Rashtra Vardhana was born on 25th June 1967, in due course and after completion his Ph.D. Degree the Author of this work presently teaching in the Department of Botany M.M.H. (P.G. & Research Studies) College, Ghaziabad, U.P. (India). He has been teaching B.Sc. & M.Sc. classes since 1997. Besides teaching he has been engaged with independent research and presented several research papers in different Asian, national Seminars and number of Abstracts and research papers have been to his credit. He has many other books to his credit, has given an intimate knowledge of the plants of the area with reference to their description occurrence, distribution ecological association, phonological notes, local names, uses etc.
