Synopsis The concepts and techniques of Nuclear Physics are not elementary in the sense that they are easily mastered. They have evolved through a great deal of experimental and theoretical research and cannot be expressed or explained in simple non-technical terms. The present set is an effort to provide an account of nuclear physics not only suitable as an introduction to this field but also provide a sequential compendium of all the latest developments in the field, whereas the selection of subject matter for the present set of two volumes has been chiefly according to the syllabi prescribed by the Universities for the students of Physics. This set should therefore be useful in an advanced undergraduate course in Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or to anyone else with the indicated preparation who might be interested in nuclear physics.
