I am a book lover from Kolkata. Hitchhiker is a story based on contemporary Indian society. It deals with issues which are very much in the news today. Like reservations, christian missionaries etc. And the arguments that come up when the characters talk are the sort of argumens which I and people like me have in our daily lives. A very interesting read. Even if you don't agree with all that the author says. Anita Pratap, the well known journalist, has written the forward for this novel. Anita says Hitchhiker is unputdownable. And I think it is true. Basically it is value for money.
