Synopsis
The book analyses the foreign policy of the Arab World and particularly Saudi Arabia during the last sixties and early seventies. The study also endeavors to examine the influence of Islam on the foreign policy of Muslim countries in general and on Saudi Arabia in particular. In the beginning an attempt has been made to recons met the Islamic theory of International relations. Some of the most important principles of foreign policy which are found in the Quarn and Hadith have been discussed. While dealing with the Islamic theory of international relations, the largely misinterpreted concepts of ‘Jihad’ and Pan-Islam have also been outlined. The divisions and infighting of the Arab World during the sixties which divided them into two folds-revolutionary and conservatism have been exhibited. Finally, the book concludes that Islam does play on important role in the foreign policy of the Arab World, since Islam is a Universal, trans ethnic religion which transients national, linguistic and cultural diversities.
