Overview for Ayurvedic Concepts in Gynaecology
The present work is perhaps the first treatise which deals with the Ayurvedic concepts in the field of Gynaecology in a comprehensive and clear way. The topics have been discussed dully on the basis of textual references comparing and integrating them with modern scientific views. The facts of modern science, on the other hand, have been correlated with the theory of Tridosha which is a novel attempt on the part of the author. Great care has been taken to maintain the ancient background and to develop it in the light of modern scientific advancement. The subject has been divided in thirteen chapters each chapter dealing with a particular topic. In the first chapter, Anatomy has been discussed explaining the various technical terms used in ancient text such as shroni, peshi, strotas etc.
