Homeopathy, one of the most gentle and natural forms of healing, is a holistic therapy which does not attempt to merely eliminate symptoms, but treats the whole person and the underlying cause of the problem. The word “homeopathic” comes from ancient Greek and means “similar suffering,” the principal that homeopathic medicine is based on. German physician and chemist, Samuel Hahnemann, was intrigued by his discovery that every remedy evoked a specific set of symptoms that correlated to the symptoms of specific diseases. From this he devised the “law of similar” proving that by administering diluted quantities of remedies matching the symptoms of a patient, the patient’s symptoms would disappear.
