Ustad Alsam Hussain Khan, is the representative of 500 years old traditional Musician 's family of the prestigious Khurja, Atrauli (Jaipur), Agra and the Delhi Tanras Khan Gharanas, These Gharanas have give India such giants as Haji Ustad Altaf Hussain Khan, Gayan Samrat Ustad Azmat Hussain khan, Sangeet Samrat Ustad Alladiya Khan, Gayanacharya Ustad Vilayat Hussain Khan, aaftab-e-Mausiqui Ustad Faiyaz Khan and many others. initially trained in music by his maternal uncle Haji Ustad Altaf Hussain Khan of Khurja Gharana. Later around 1950 Ustad Aslam Hussain Khan came under tutelage oif his brother-in-law Gayan Samrat Ustad Azmat Hussain Khan, who not only became his Guru but also his mentor and benefactor. He also had an opportunity of learning music from Ustad Vilayat Hussain Khan is a graded artiste of All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has performed all over India and Abroad. Has been awarded with 'Surmani' in 1969. 'Swarvilas Samman' Award in 1993, ' Swar Sadhana Vilas' in 1999 and 'Sangeet Martand' and 'Sur Sangam' in 1995. Ustad Aslam Hussain Khan has composed several compositions and Ragas under the pen name "Khushrang".
