This recording features the music of the bansuri or bamboo flute, an instrument with a documentes history as long as that of indian music itself. The featured soloist, Gs Sachdev, is one of only a handful of currently performing musicians to have mastered this difficult instrument . His playing is remarkable for its directness and simplicity, capturing the esstial spirit of Indian classical music here in performances of three contrasting ragas.
