The Gayatri Mantra is featured in the Rig Veda. It is in essence an earnest and heartfelt appeal to the almighty The Supreme Being for enlightenment and wisdom. According to the Veda's, chanting the Gayatri Mantra purifies the chanter and listening to the Gayatri Mantra purifies the listener.

"OM BUHR, BHUVA, SWAHA OM TAT SAVITUR VARENYAM BHARGO DEVASYA DHEEMAHI DHIYO YONAHA PRACHODAYAT"

We meditate on the glory of the Creator; Who has created Universe; Who is worthy of Worship; Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light; Who is the remover of Sin and lgnorance; May He open our hearts and enlighten our intellect.

By chanting this mantra, Divine spiritual light and power is infused in our inner self.
