USTAD ALLAHRKHA KHAN & FAZAL QURESHI The late Ustad Allahrakha Khan was one of the towering figures of the 20th century. Zakir's name has become synonymous with the tabla. Ustad Zakir Hussain is the eldest son and disciple of the great Ustad Alla Rakha Khan Saheb who is recognised as the doyen of the Punjab Gharana. Besides a wide ranging variety of Punjab Gharana composition he is a veritable storehouse of tabla gats. He has received honorary certificates from the Prime Minister of Mauritius, the High commission of India in West Indies and Oslo and a Military commendation from Manipur (Imphal).
