The Vakyapadiyam of Bhartrhari Brahmakanda
Brahmakanda, is the first part of the Vakyapadiyam by Bhartrhari, Vakyapadiyam is the first major work that not only has proposed and successfully advocated the theme of Vyakarna to be a Darsana, but also recommended the same as a better and direct path leading to Moksa. The present book is altogether different from previous translations a new pattern of rendering is introduced in translating the work. Each verse is preceded by Introduction, that give the mind of the author or maintains cohesion among the verses, as the case may be. Summary of the verse is given at the second stage. Commentary is added, wherein the intense meaning is explicated. At the final stage notes which gives the derivative-etymological meaning of certain terms as well as some important clarifications.
