Synopsis

The volume showcases the legend that was Satyajit Ray in black and white pictures. It is a fascinating pictorial study of the celluloid maestro. With an exclusive testimonial from Mrinal Sen, ace photographer, Aloke Mitra, here uses his exceptional sense of perception to capture wonderful images of the artiste at work. He presents an array of images that range from the candid to the serene and the contemplative, from the private moments of the filmmaker to scenes of the artiste at work on location. The photographs show Ray conversing with eminent personalities, handling the camera in his inimitable style, and directing his remarkably talented actors and musicians with a passion for the art.
