In the field of animal nutrition, emphasis has been given on the chemical analysis of feed. Keeping in view the instructions of VCI, an effort has been made to write the laboratory. This write-up presents the exposure on definition of terms, indicators, glassware's and their use, estimations like: moisture, dry matter, protein, either extract, nitrogen free-extract, fibre, ash, minerals like calcium and phosphorous, energy contents and also the identification of feed and fodder samples. The subject matter is very wide and cannot be included in one manual. Though this effort is small, but carries a significance, because it is useful at the grass root level in any of the institutions, where such type of work is being carried out by youngsters.
