Overview for Sustainable Development of Delhi: Problems and Prospects: A Geographical Approach
This book attempts to examine the challenges that a mega city like Delhi is set to face. Describing the impact of urbanization, it takes a close look with humane approach at various environmental issues focusing on air, water, noise and solid waste pollution. It also examines the dynamism of cultural and historical morphology of Delhi pertaining to land use, land cover, layout, plan style of buildings, mode of arrangement of roads and streets, types and composition of dwelling, family structure and social values in historical perspectives. The entire study has been organized into eight chapters with the introduction in the beginning and conclusion in the end that is providing in depth explanations of key concepts, issues and topics. The present book will be useful to the students, teachers, researchers, social scientists and planners concerning urban problems.

Dr. Ghuncha Firdaus is currently post-doctorate fellow on University Grants Commission' major research project in the department of Geography, Faculty of Science, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. She obtained all her degrees from Aligarh Muslim University in 1st Division, and completed her Ph.D. in Urban Environment. She has got published ten research papers in various journals of National and International repute.
