Overview for The Yoga of Love: Based on Sri Aurobindo's Synthesis of Yoga

Love is the crown of knowledge. Love opens many windows of the Reality-that is God. One cannot escape perceiving God when one is filled with love for God. Even as knowledge culminates in love, love leads to an integral knowledge. It is perhaps a symptom of our age that people have generally misunderstood the yoga of love. This yoga concentrates, not only on the carnal aspects of human love, but also on the sublime emotional fulfillments of the godward directed emotions. The Yoga of Love concerns itself with the union of the human soul, with the divine through emotion, the heart's movements of aspiration, longing and seeking, and the fulfillment of the divine relationship with the soul. This yoga is the fount from which the great saints have drawn their inspiration and strength. The soul's ecstasy of love has given us Mirabai, St. Francis, Harnuman, Kabir and others in all the religious and spiritual traditions of the world. The yoga of love transcends any one spiritual teaching or path and in its fulfillment, brings about the soul of unity and harmony which looks beyond all the divisions to find that ultimate oneness of man with god, and with his fellow men.
