Synopsis Sensors and Transducers are absolutely essential in control and instrumentation, being the route through which processing electronics acquires information from the external world upon which they act. Neither instrumentation nor control systems have an existence unless measurements are made. Sensors and transducers are used in automation in industries, domestic appliances, construction, transport, communication, health services, defence equipment, automobile and many other applications> Sensors and transducers are now becomes key components, which brings "automation revolution". The primary aim of this book is to acquaint the students with the basic principles of sensors and transducer systems and show how each of them can exploit for the measurement of a large number of variables. In India there are more than three hundred engineering institutes teaching instrumentation as a separate discipline. The students of this an associated discipline, the teachers, the researcher, and the professionals also require some literature to begin with. Therefore the experience in teaching and research and encouraged me to write this book.
