Overview for Indian Petroleum Directory: With an Introductory Chapter on Petroleum Industry in India, IPD 2007
There had been rapid developments in all aspects of technique and technology during last century for exploration and production of oil and gas from deep sea to rugged hilly and forested areas and of course from deserts. The industry in India has not lagged behind the global effort. The twenty-first century is destined to be an era for application of technologies that would ensure much higher or near total recovery of inplace oil/gas from new or old reservoirs. The sixth edition of the directory is divided into two parts like its last edition. Part I is devoted to the current status of all the subsectors of the petroleum industry. Besides, it also includes all relevant information concerning New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP), coal bed methane, gas hydrates, manpower and new initiatives. Part II provides the details like names, addresses, branches, joint ventures, products/services, senior executives of all the upstream/downstream petroleum companies/organisations operating in India followed by product index and who's who in the Petroleum Industry of the country.

An upstream petroleum consultant, with over 44 years of experience in exploration and development geology and reservoir engineering. He has authored the book “Oil & Gas Fields of India”. He superannuated in 1991 as Director, Institute of Reservoir Studies, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., Ahmedabad, India. Subsequently, he was Chief Petroleum Advisor to Hyundai Heavy Industries of S. Korea and has carried out evaluation of exploration blocks, and small and medium sized fields offered for lease by Government of India on behalf of several private companies.
