The various geological, geophysical and geochemical surveys, point towards the most probable geographical locations, favourable geological structures, depositional environments, and time periods for hydrocarbon accumulations. Therefore, an encyclopaedia is required which covers all the disciplines of upstream (E & P). The aim of first volume is to make the interconnections among the different disciplines of exploration geophysics, geology, geoscience, drilling engineering, production, transportation, storing, etc. These eleven volumes of "Encyclopaedia of petroleum Science and Engineering" will help to promote understanding and communication among users. These volumes are suitable for geopgysicists, geologists, scientists, universities, organizations, teachers, students and other working in different disciplines of petroleum science and engineering.
