  • Broad landscape in Hellenic studies

The felicitation volume on Udayana: New Horizons... is a remarkable tribute to a rare scholar who spent an entire lifespan creating a new discipline on Indo Hellenic Studies. Apart from the biographical sketches of Prof U.P. Arora, the volume contains some very insightful papers on this narrowly defined but historically important subject. It could have been useful if some one had studied the reasons why Greece could not remain in Indian memory during contemporary history and how the exposition of Indo Hellenic history could be a guide to the new emerging India.
