Synopsis First of its kind, this encyclopaedia will be very informative for the legislators, executives, bureaucrats, journalists, scholars, historians and information scientists besides the students appearing in the competitive examinations and the laypersons who seek information about the Union Ministers of Independent India. Each entry provides selective information such as their exact name, father’s name, date and place of birth, education, levels of ministership and portfolios with dates and permanent address if living otherwise date of demise. The data has been gathered through questionnaires but mostly from standard printed sources. Analysis of these entries will quickly answer: Number of persons sworn in as ministers. Number of women ministers. Portfolios held by a particular minister. How long one held a particular portfolio. Profession-wise the number of graduates, lawyers, doctors, engineers, bureaucrats, etc., etc. amongst them. How many of them arose to be President/Vice-President/Prime Minister. A must for each School, College, University, Research, Public Library and Ministry/Department at the Centre and in the States, besides Embassies/High Commissions.
