Synopsis The Great Indian Railway Atlas is an accurate graphical representation of the network and resources of the railways in India: spanning over 63,000 route kilometers on four different gauges. More than 13 million passengers travel on 14,000 trains and well over 1.4 million tonnes of freight are transported every day in 6,000 freight trains between the 8,000 + stations, aided by a fleet of over 7,300 locomotives, 45,000 coaching vehicles and 280,000 goods wagons. Within the massive Indian railway network there are always new projects and upgradations in progress, be it new lines, gauge conversions or electrification works. This Atlas charts out the entire network, showing every station big or small, and also gives up-to-date indication about ongoing projects.
