Synopsis

The book describes the condition of Kashmir which is called the "heaven on earth" but has been turned into virtual hell by terrorists' activities aided by Pakistan. The book has 12 chapters. The first three chapters give a historical account of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, the political awakening among the people and the events before and after accession of the state to India. India's stand on the issue from Jawaharlal Nehru to Narendra Modi has been given in chapters 4 and 5. Chapter 6 provides the opinions of political and legal experts on the issue. The stands of individuals of importance and organizations are given in chapter 7. Chapters 8 and 9 study Article 370 of India's Constitution, and provide Sardar Patel's views of the Articles 370 and 255, respectively. The issue of regional autonomy, and Jayaprakash Narayan's views on Jammu and Kashmir have been taken up in chapters 10 and 11. Lastly, chapter 12 suggests some solutions to solve the problem once and for all. The book will appeal to all those who want to know about the Kashmir tangle and want it solved.
